I won the Judge's Prize!
Judge's Prize:The Judges' Prize is to be awarded, not on the basis of the competition, but solely at the whim and discretion of the judges. Novel algorithms, interesting implementations, beautiful code, arresting user interfaces, use of parallelism -- these things may well count for something in the judges' eyes. The team winning the Judges' Prize will be awarded
** Money:$1000
** Wisdom:Each member of the team will receive autographed copies of faculty- authored texts in computer science.
Recognition:Winning team members will be acknowledged during the presentation of the awards and on the department's website as a group of "extremely cool hackers."
Mary has informed me that SamAMac Incorporated has received a bill from the Illinois Department of Revenue. This wasn't totally unexpected. I sent in our tax return late and suspected that IDOR would charge us a penalty. What I didn't expect, however, is that they would send us a bill for $0.00.
I think I'll send them a check for $0.00.
Well, today was a busy day. I finally got a ticket, so I'll be going out on a call tomorrow. Also, today was the ACM Sig Chair workshop. In a week or so, I'll have my 24-hour Siebel access! Too cool. Then I had my last Physics midterm. Afterward I treated myself to an Old-Fashioned Shake from Moonstruck.
And it's only Monday.
Contingency Planning n.: Registering to take Math 415 over the summer on the off chance that you fail Math 225 this semester.
Man, I'm glad I moved my blog.
I may not have solved P=NP, but I did get a Java Applet to display on a .NET
Windows Form. Oooooooh yeah...
After mucking around with my Blogger blog, Google has just reindexed it. Coincidence? I think not.
And I just HAD to register on Slashdot with the username SamAMac.
First post in a while.
My roommate is driving me nuts. As I write this, he is very loudly bashing the hell out of his computer keys. Why? Because he's playing "Dance Dance Revolution" on his computer.
Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of Dance Dance Revolution?
Well, I have a TON of work to do. Hopefully I'll have more time to post later.
Oh, and if anybody wanted to say, come visit me next Friday (the 29th), I'll be presenting my project for CS Days, and then I want to go see Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
You in?
