Oh, Yeah, and Isn't This the Dumbest Thing You've Ever Heard?

Ridiculous.

Why Can't All Classes be Physics?

"In the desert, there's plenty of parking."

-Christopher Walken

Yeah, so if you haven't heard, I bombed the Calc test. I wasn't alone, though.

Anyway, I love physics. The exam is tomorrow. First, it's multiple choice. Second, I went to the review session tonight, and I was delightfully surprised to see that Professor Liss himself was there. The review session for Econ was run by the TA, and there was no review session for Calculus.

In other news, I found out that my CS 173 teacher isn't a professor. I grew suspicious when she sent me to her office to get the graded homework for my class and her i-Card said "Graduate." That really angers me, because she makes us do all of this crap (I just realized I missed another Proof of the Day, oops), and sometimes during lecture she doesn't know what she's talking about. She tried to convince a room full of programmers that 7=3 mod 4. Ironically, the very next day I was in my physics discovery course, and Professor Hubler used the modulo operator, and he used it correctly, 3 = 7 mod 4. I have that exam Sunday (conflict exam, the regular exam is scheduled (of course) Tuesday night).

I've decided to use my 1,500 weekly Cafe Credits exclusively for Diet Coke, since it's a pain to carry it home from Walgreens, and then just buy food at Walgreens. I bought a bunch of stuff tonight, and I hope it will last a while.

I'm ticked off about this one thing I got with my books. It's an access code for an online thing that Dror doesn't use. It's too late to return it, and I don't think I could sell it back, especially since I opened it thinking there was a CD inside. It was $26.50!

Anyway, I gotta get to bed.

This Is Stupid

OK, so I got my calc exam back today, and I bombed it. And then my TA told us that this isn't one of those classes where lecture notes are sufficient, because there isn't enough time in lecture to cover everything. That's funny, because it seems like there's always time in lecture to do things like prove the Pythagorean Theorem, which isn't on the exam. Also, I know people in the same situation as me in that they get perfect scores on the quizzes and then failed the exam. And the one guy was in Dror's discussion, and took Dror's quizzes. Funny.

Hey! A Post!

Okey dokey.

So Tuesday I had the Calc test. It was pretty bad. But I did get to physics and the TA let me take the quiz. Dror said in lecture yesterday that we would get the tests back today, but he didn't grade my section's, so I didn't.

Today was the econ test. Equally sucky.

There was another guy that joined our group in Physics lab. It sucked, because he ended up splitting my group, and he was feeding me bad numbers. Bah!

Tomorrow is Peanut Day. I'm working from 1 to 2. Then Petey and I might do stuff.

Anyway, I discovered this thing called the Facebook. I signed up for it yesterday and started looking for friends, and it turned out that Bonnie had signed up the very same day. Weird.

I'm just blathering now...

Another Saturday Night

Well, here's what's been going on:

If you haven't heard, I am now Chairman and CEO of SamAMac Incorporated. Coolness. Now is when you give me money.

On Tuesday we had a freak thunderstorm, and some of my books got wet (Petey's calc book was ruined; he had waited weeks to get it, too). So I bought some transparent duct tape and tried to waterproof my backpack. I decided it wasn't going to stay on, plus it looked dorky, so I tore it off and put it under the carpet. This seems like a good plan because (a) they say not to use carpet tape, so I'm thinking half-adhesive duct tape is better, and (b) some of the adhesive is still on my backpack, which hopefully will provide some protection the next time it rains.

Petey didn't want to go see Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow with me last night, deciding rather to sit in his room, futilely searching for someone to get drunk with. I believe he went to a frat party with DeFalco tonight. Anyway, I didn't see the movie, but I did discover there is a Blockbuster within walking distance of the dorm. Cool.

Went to the SIGWin meeting today and learned about C#.

I would blog more, but my hands are tired and I'm tired even more. So good night.

Shoot

So I walk into Calculus at 2, and it's bright and sunny outside. I walk out at 2:50, and it's pouring rain. And Petey and I both discovered that our backpacks aren't waterproof. My Physics, Econ, and I-Book are all water damaged. My notebook and folder were totally ruined. Plus I dented my Cranium metal case.

But as of today, SamAMac Incorporated officially exists! Yay!

I Should Be Doing Homework

Boredom Reigns at the U of I

OK, I'll post.

Petey, the roommates and I are currently sitting in the room, bored out of our minds. Petey and I just returned from a quest to find something to do, to no avail.

Boredom!!!

Donated blood today. I learned that my blood type (AB+) is actually the second rarest blood type, after AB-. The technician actually put a "Special Handling" tag on mine. I must remember to donate more often.

Called Denise to find out how the first meeting went, and got her voicemail.

Got up early to staff Circle K booth at Volunteer Fair.

Tomorrow, my day off, to be devoted to homework and sleep.
