Excuse Me Sir, but Do You Have a Cheese Grader's License?

I was looking at Wisconsin business info today, and that's one of the things you need a license for in Wisconsin. Yup. Cheese grading.

In case you didn't know (man, where have you been?), I now live in the Dairy State. It sucks big time. Really.

Anyway, I've been unpacking so that I can pack again to move to U of I on Sunday. I took a break to test the games I bought on Saturday. While we were in West Lafayette, Chris talked me into buying myself three GameCube games. I expressed interest in buying a new copy of 007 NightFire for $19.95, so of course the guy tells me that if I buy 2 pre-owned games, I get another one free. Chris then tells me that I "have" to have Skies of Arcadia for $26.95. Then my freebie is NCAA Football 2004, for $17.95, the same price as the pre- owned 007 NightFire. Anyway, I ended up getting all three games. I like 007 NightFire, and spent several hours playing it tonight. NCAA Football looks like a lot of fun too, especially in the dorm. But Skies of Arcadia is 1) an RPG, which I don't really care for; 2) confusing; and 3) missing its manual, unlike the other two games, and this is one game you want the manual for.

So there it is. I am so glad that Chris is in Indiana, so he can't convince me to waste any more of my own money.

So after I got really sleepy playing 007, I logged on to check email and catch up on everybody's blog. Then Denise IMed me about some Key Club stuff, and told me that she has something to give me, but of course, I'm in frickin' Wisconsin. Did I mention Wisconsin sucks?

P.S. I also really miss my cable modem. Dial-up sucks!

Best Weekend Ever

The weekend was fun. It got a roaring start when I went out to lunch at Portillo's with my coworkers Anne and Lauren. Then when I got home to the empty house, it kind of sucked. Nobody told me about the 80's party, even though Chris had mentioned the idea of it to me like a week ago. But it was OK. I got some A&W and enjoyed my weekly 3 hours of TV. Then I was really tired, so I went to bed.

I got up about noon. I grabbed my first meal of the day at McDonald's, and then set out east on Roosevelt in order to kill half an hour before Bonnie's party. Fun fun.

Bonnie's party was typical of the family/friends parties, in that I knew a whole one other person there, Keri Frederick. Anyway, I talked to Keri and Bonnie and some of her relatives and watched the Cubbies cream the Giants. At one point her family started leaving and still no more friends had appeared. I finally took off around 8 when several of her friends that I didn't know came. But it was fun nevertheless. Side note: Vince did not make American Idol and is now planning to attend ISU.

So then I went to Anna's party. I finally met Allyson and Hilary, who until then I had half-suspected were some sort of artificially-intelligent blog- reading robots. Hey, there's an idea...

So that party was great. We ended up at Denny's (as always) and who was there but Matt Cuellar, who I've been friends with since birth. He was surprised that I was out at one AM (shows you how long it's been since we've hung out together, huh?) and dumbfounded to learn that I was out with Chris and six girls. Rock on.

Sunday I went shopping with my sisters for dorm stuff. Fun fun.

The closing on the house has been postponed until Wednesday, so I'll be crashing at Chris's one less day. I'm going to help him move to Purdue on Saturday.

The Positive Party is this Thursday, 5 PM at the north pavilion of Madison Meadows. Friday's open for me, and I should be getting off work early. Any takers?

Anyway, after the closing on Wednesday, my home phone will be disconnected, so call my cell. You all ought to know my new email address too. If you don't, ask me. My AIM will stay the same, of course, and I keep Yahoo all the time, ask me if you want my username for that.

Mary just called. I'll post again later.

Obligatory Post

Mary keeps telling me that I need to post. But if I post, then I'll feel obligated to cover everything since my last post, so I don't post, and it just gets worse.

-July 24: My party. Fun.

-July 31: Renee's party. Fun. Chaz thought I was related to Renee. Weird.

-Aug 1: Going-away/grad party for family. Not fun.

-Aug 2-3: Sick.

-Aug 5: Got oil change. Yay. House now empty. Sucks.

Stay tuned for more exciting adventures.
