OK, I'm actually writing this on June 6.
OK, so I went after school with Nina to set up. We didn't have the right tables because we didn't put in a set-up request, so Nina and I went to talk to the grumpy old guy. We got the tables.
I went home to change, and I was late, but it was OK, because lots of people were late, not that many showed up, and the food wasn't ready.
Nobody wanted to read from the script, which screwed everything up. I totally bombed my little speech.
I got girly glasses and a Best Buy gift card as parting gifts. Everybody loves me!
Afterward, I went to see Shrek 2 with Renee, Megan Butler, and Amy Delpercio.
And that's the way it was.
Now addicted to "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" by Daft Punk.
Got the last plaque for Banquet today. Have to get perpetual engraved tomorrow.
Currently rushing to send out Banquet invites.
Fun, fun, fun!

Well, I'm stumped again. I thought I had finally decided on U of I, but then Friday Kirby told me that she got in to Rice, and I kinda did tell her I'd go to Houston if she went to Rice, so I don't know what to do. It turned into a discussion over lunch during the field trip, and just about everybody thought I should go to Houston, except Chris Defalco and Mrs. Joyce. Houston, meanwhile, looks suckier all the time.
Anyway, tomorrow is the big let's-take-a-test-to-see-if-you-did-the-review- for-the-AP-exam in Calculus. I'm steeling myself to get my first C for a quarter in high school, possibly even a semester. 3rd quarter was great, 4th quarter has sucked.
I'm currently writing the essays for the Pihos scholarship, which of course is for U of I. I have to get some crap notarized tomorrow and have Mom run it out to her office while I interview for the David Koch Scholarship. Joy.
Wore my MIT shirt today, just to remind myself of why I'm in this big stupid
mess.
Econ tests went OK. Meeting was all right too.
I just went to Best Buy because I had this Reward Zone certificate that was going to expire. So I went in and realized that I had wanted to get a USB hub. First of all, Abbie had one that she said she didn't need, and I could have asked her to send it to me, but I decided to buy one instead. Anyway, I picked out a hub that was $20, $15 after mail-in rebate. Then as I'm going to the register, I realize that I have a gift card at home on my dresser. But the certificate is going to expire, it's almost closing time, and I don't want to run home and come back, so I just went ahead and bought it. But instead of using my debit card, I used cash, and now I don't have enough to pay Mrs. Joyce for the pizza tomorrow.
I figure I'll use the gift card sooner or later, but it still irritates me. I've sent away for this free card holder thing that I get free with these points I get for filling out online surveys, but it hasn't come yet. Then I'll be able to take my cards with me, since my wallet is too small for all of them.
Grrness.
Now I've been voted "Most Likely to Succeed!" Coolness!
Look how much I've been blogging lately. Tells you something about how much work I have to do.
I am currently in a state of Grrrrr because the ACH I put in at 3 AM yesterday
hasn't cleared. Plus, I paid for something with my debit card today, so I
can't withdraw the $85 hitting the red. Hmmm, I wonder how much is in my
wallet? Not enough. Grrrrrr.
Blogging by email. That's what's cool.
I'm going to prom with Denise I'm going to prom with Denise I'm going to prom with Denise I'm going to prom with Denise I'm going to prom with Denise I'm going to prom with Denise I'm going to prom with Denise I'm going to prom with Denise I'm going to prom with Denise I'm going to prom with Denise I'm going to prom with Denise I'm going to prom with Denise I'm going to prom with Denise I'm going to prom with Denise I'm going to prom with Denise
Plus, I received word that Matt Niemet and I are the finalists for the David
Koch scholarship. Rock on!
OK, I just told ING to transfer $100 from my savings to my checking account, since I'll need to get some cash for the prom ticket. Guess what my confirmation number was. Yup, that's right. 42.
It's a bummer. I haven't taken any money out since I put the $300 in when I opened the account. I was hoping I wouldn't have to. But I'm going to need that $85 hopefully within a couple of days, that ATM deposit still hasn't cleared (I'll call the bank on Tuesday if it doesn't clear tomorrow), and my checking is getting lower than I like it to be.
Well, Mom told me tonight that GFS is hiring, so I'm going to get over there sometime this week and fill out an application. I really need to start building up my savings, both for college and so that I can pay the filing fee for the Articles of Incorporation. BTW, anyone want to be the registered agent? I'm not sure who I should put down for it. All it entails is getting some important mail from the Secretary of State. Let me know.
I've been working on a new ordering system for the SamAMac site. Hopefully in a week or so I'll be able to automatically set up accounts as well as register domain names, which will be totally cool.
Well, it's late. I can't sleep, but it's still late. Maybe I'll do a token
Calculus problem before attempting to sleep again.
Man, I'm tired.
Realized today that the check I deposited in the ATM last night wasn't endorsed. I'm figuring that's why the transaction still hasn't cleared. Grrrrrr.
Also, Denise still hasn't called to let me know if she can go to prom with me. Bummer.
Yay for Sundays.
OK, first of all, Mr. Blogs-are-for-losers-but-I-read-everybody's-blog-and- want-them-to-talk-about-me-because-I'm-an-insecure-little-twerp-who-still- hasn't-asked-anybody-to-prom, read the following from the comments on the last post:
Speaking as a girl (well, no different than usual, but...) if I were asked to prom, and I had to say, I don't know if I am going, and that guy asked someone else the same day, I think I would not only be pissed but kind of hurt that I was apparently part of a list and not someone asked because I was especially wanted.
Try to be a little more smooth in the future.
Also, what happened to asking Bonnie? You swore up and down last weekend that you really, honest to God, were going to ask her.
Jen | 05.05.04 - 12:33 am | #
That's not how it happened. I asked Nina on Friday. What she said was that she was planning on going by herself if she went at all. So perhaps characterizing it as "I don't know" wasn't quite accurate. It was more of a "no." Then Friday night I learned the whole story from Renee during our little get-together in her basement. So I decided to ask Denise on Tuesday, which of course is several days after Friday.
And for your information, I would have been very happy to go with Nina, but it seemed rather clear to me that it wasn't going to happen.

And as for why I haven't asked Bonnie, I was planning on asking her several times, but she was gone from school for days. Yeah, I could have called her, but I didn't. I overheard her talking to somebody on the bus to Math Team, and she said she wasn't sure she wanted to go this year anyway. I've also heard some other stuff, and so I just decided not to ask her.
DEAL WITH IT.
And whoever it was that stuffed the poll box, I've corrected the tally.
Just a quick note, because I have to study for calculus. I should have been studying for calculus for the last three hours, but you know me...
AP Comp Sci exam today. It was all right.
Calculus AP tomorrow. Yay.
There was a meeting of the senior class club after school today about the senior class gift that I was thinking about attending, but I decided not to. Enh.
Got a note from Mr. Johnson today in, of all things, Auto. Looks like I'll be giving a speech at graduation. Sara will too. Funny thing is, the note said to go to his office tomorrow at 11, and both Sara and I have the AP test at that time. So I went and talked to the secretary because Mr. Johnson was busy, and she said it would be straightened out.
I have so far asked two girls to prom and received two "I don't know"s ("I don't know if I can go to prom", not "I don't know if I want to go with you", mind you). So anyway, that's my life.
Now it's off to do the last studying for Calculus this year, except the preparation for that stupid "Blue Book" test which I will struggle vainly to prepare for in an effort not to get a C for 4th quarter. Which reminds me, I need to find the answer guide for the blue book. Hmmm....
P.S. They finally figured it out. Eric Pingolt's photo is now before mine.
