First lesbians, now aliens. What will this girl make out with next?

Today was OK. History was fun. I actually gave my presentation in Pre-Calc without my voice getting all nervous-sounding. Kirby came over at lunch to ask if I remembered the name of that Communist that we were supposed to look up, I didn't. I met with Mrs. Constien after school to discuss my paper. I seriously need to work on my thesis and/or outline. Argh! While I was waiting for Mrs. Constien to get back from who-knows-where, I chatted with Elizabeth G. and Kirby, who were also waiting. My point: English sucks.

Hello! Today was pretty good for a Monday. History was kind of fun. Jen was taking the stat test 5th hour, so she wasn't at lunch. I went to see "Days of Heaven" after school for extra credit. It sucked. But we had pizza, and lots of people I knew where there, including Caroline and Anna (not that Anna, if you know "Caroline and Anna," you know which Anna I'm referring to) Chris (Lauren's brother Chris, not loud Chris), Ryan A. and Bonnie. Bonnie sat next to me. Coolness. I got to help Anna with her algebra homework. It was funny. I walked in and everyone's like, "Anna, ask Matt." It was just how to find the vertex of a parabola. I like feeling I'm needed.

Be afraid, be very afraid.

Well, Jen hasn't posted yet, so I guess I'll be first this time. We went to the York Theatre (I gave her directions) to see Chicago. It was all right, I guess. It's just that the actual movie was only about 15 minutes long. The rest of it was having silly song and dance numbers instead of actual dialogue. I thought it was bad, even for an artsy film (measured against Frida and Run Lola Run). Then we came back here, and didn't spend too long in front of my door, for a very good reason. It's not as secluded as Jen's, and my parents and sister came out at one point.

I told her about my coffeehouse dream. She didn't think it was interesting.

I have 25 notecards and some statistics due Monday, and I'm going to my sister Aimee's tomorrow. At least this is the last week before spring break. But over spring break I have to write two research papers, one in spanish, and take a crash course in how not to make a fool of myself at caucases. Sigh...

Oh, forgotten blog! Well, I'm back. It's Friday, I'm tired. But I'll post a little.

Flower sale was today. We had a lot left over. They were all dying because nobody knew we were supposed to cut them yesterday. Oh well.

Yesterday, I got to hold hands with Zeljka and Josie. OK, before you go off on me, it was because we were performing a physics experiment (I love physics). But it was still cool, considering.

BTW, the best way to deal with Chris is to ignore him or hit him. I usually opt for the former.

And now for my side:

1) I gave her the choice: Chicago or Deerfield? I'm sure I could have found the one in Deerfield a lot easier. Besides, I got lost in Chicago. I was with Jennifer when she got lost in Wheaton.

2) As for not getting on the list, join me in your best Han Solo impression: "It's not my fault!!!"

Ed Debevic's was fun. And Jennifer enjoyed it, don't let her persuade you otherwise.

OK, Mira Sorvino was already my favorite actress, but now that I find out she's a TREKKIE, she is the coolest actress on the planet.

I finally asked Jen out.

Ah, peachiness. Yesterday at lunch, Jen brought up "us." While expecting this, I was totally unprepared. I don't like the way I left it. To be perfectly honest, I'm just a little nervous. I have no experience in this area. I totally agree that the next move is mine, though.

In other news, Kirby came over to the table twice yesterday inquiring about my GPA. It's her assertion I'm the highest ranked in our class. I doubt it, though.

Got my Pre-Calc test back today. I actually managed to get a 91%. I don't know if that will swing me an A for the quarter, though. I also got a 66/70 on the Spanish quiz. I think either Jen or Mary is working on Jen's blog as I write this.

I have some lovely Pre-Calc and stats to do tonight, not to mention spending some time thinking about my research paper. JAG's a rerun. School sucks. I also have to write a little speech to give at the Key Club meeting tomorrow. We had to move it to Wednesday because of a faculty meeting.

I'd better stop blogging and get to work. Sigh...

Ah, the Turnabout Report:

5:30- I arrive at Renee's house, at the same time as Kyle. We enter, take pictures, etc.

c. 6:00- We eat dinner. A nice meal, mostacholi and sparkling grape juice. Interesting conversation ensues.

c. 6:45- Now done with dinner, we play Taboo to kill time. I believe the girls did actually win, but not by a large margin. Note to self: don't play that game with Kyle again.

c. 7:40- We all pile into Renee's van to go to the dance. We arrive just about on time.

As for the dance itself, it was enjoyable, and went by a lot faster than I thought it would. The DJ's apparently have no sense of what kind of music you can dance to. They never played Love Shack, which if you ask me, is totally inexcusable. All they played was this stupid rap stuff that had no beat to speak of.

Kyle abandoned Mary soon after we arrived, became involved with some people that had smuggled vodka into the dance, and was arrested.

11:00- The dance officially ends. Mr. Zaucha had begun tearing down the decorations 10 minutes earlier.

11:15- The coat check is empty. People are absconding with all of the decorations, including the giant seaweed.

11:30- We arrive at Kappy's. I order the New York Strip Steak and Eggs. Nick (Renee's date) and I split the bill.

OK, after this I kind of lose track of time. Anyway, we all went to Stardust Bowl and played two games. Then we went back to Renee's. Jen came with me to my car, and I kissed her. Then I proceeded home and arrived at precisely 3:00 AM (I have a knack for that: I arrived home from Holiday Embrace at precisely 2:30).

Today went fairly well. The Pre-Calc test was terrible. The in-class essay wasn't too fun either. After Spanish(not bad) Chris begged me to let him copy my homework. I relented (I guess it's not the first time: I used to let Jen copy my stats, but now I just sit there and say, "That's ridiculously easy!"). It wouldn't have been so bad, except Mr. Gerut lauded Chris for getting things right and for actually writing neatly (I didn't have anything to do with that). Chris told Mr. Gerut that he "had help." I'll say. PE was fun. Then I came home and actually got some stuff done. I was just trying to decide which shirt and tie to wear with my new suit. Decisions, decisions.

Oh, and Jen, I had a suit all along. It's not MY fault the western style went out in the 70's.

Ah, the joys of high school.

Tomorrow I shall be required to write an in-class essay on A Farewell to Arms. I hate writing in-class essays, especially on things I really don't like. I can never finish them in time, and I actually have to write them. I like taking a day to type an essay, and using the thesaurus built into my word processor. I also have a pre-calc test on polar coordinates and vectors. Let's see if I can break my own record for screwing up a test on something I actually know.

On a lighter note, I now have a suit for Turnabout. I think I'm all set for Saturday now. Life is OK and getting better.

I intended to blog about all the depressing things that happened today, but it seems pointless now. Besides, I only have 8 minutes left to finish my statistics homework before MacGyver comes on. Au revoir!

Hello. Finally ordered the corsage. Rock on. I'm just about to get cracking on my homework. Today was kind of bad. The lab in physics didn't go too well. If I have time, I'm going to try building the circuit at home and see if I can get it to work. I still need to find a suit, and I have a million other things to do. Sigh...I can't wait for spring break.

Sigh...today was okay, I guess. I still didn't call to order a corsage and I left my homework till now. And tomorrow is the start of Lent. Peachy. At least I found out today that the group project on Colombia isn't due until sometime in April, which puts it after spring break. I've decided what I'm giving up for Lent: procrastination. Let's see how far I get with that one, eh?

Sigh...the last day of my four day weekend. Bummer. Today when I came down the router was having a fit. I had to remove the link to the cable modem and reset it. I hope it's not going flaky. More updates later, maybe.

Well, the concert was all right. Evil Olive is an interesting band. I've spent the rest of the evening trying to get some work done to satisfy that voice in the back of my head. I don't know what I'm going to do with the next two days of my weekend. Sigh...

Greetings! I haven't posted much lately, have I? I guess I've been too busy enjoying my weekend. On Thursday night, I went to the Glen Ellyn Art Theatre with Jen. We managed to find it all right, but as it turned out, Bowling for Columbine wasn't playing at 9:30. So Jen chose Frida instead. It was a horrible film, and I advise everyone not to see it. Jen thought it was good. Anyway, I managed to find a way home (and by pure luck, I found the secret underpass I had known about!) and then we spent two hours talking afterward. Yesterday began with MacGyver, then my mom and I went to my sister Aimee's to hang out and play Tri-Bond. That game is hard. Today began with MacGyver, and tonight I'm going to an Evil Olive concert. Ah, life doesn't get much better than this.
